AAT Accounts Trainee Required

We are looking for a school leaver who is interested is starting an AAT accounting apprenticeship to join our team.

Job Description

We are a small friendly practice based in North Leeds are seeking an AAT Trainee Accountant to join the firm. This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring financial professional. You will learn a range of new skills and will be fully supported throughout your training.

This role is ideal for someone who has just left school and is looking to become a qualified accountant, or for someone who has experience in an accounting function, and is looking to develop both academically and professionally.

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Preparing VAT Returns and bookkeeping
• Preparing sole trader, partnership and small limited company accounts
• Preparing Corporation and Income Tax Returns
• Using Sage, Xero and Quickbooks
• Building a working relationship with clients
• Other responsibilities and ad hoc duties as required

Once qualified, training will continue and the post holder will be required to keep up-to-date with changing technical and professional matters.

Attributes required

• Advanced user of Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and numerical abilities
• Drive and ambition to contribute to business growth; self motivated with good team working skills
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written; professional phone manner and excellent customer care skills
• Good organisational and time management skills; ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively

Qualifications required:

Minimum 5 GCSE including English & Maths A*-B

Minimum of 3 A Levels grades A*-C
