Whitesides Chartered Accountants is an independent firm of accountants based in Horsforth, Leeds.  We provide accounting, bookkeeping, payroll and tax services to owner managed businesses and individuals. Due to the continued growth of the practice we are now looking for a full-time bookkeeping/administration assistant to join our team.

The ideal candidate should be confident and have experience of working as part of a team. Bookkeeping experience is essential, and the successful candidate must have experience of working in office administration or a similar role and be good with figures.  This is a very diverse and busy role which would suit someone with a practical and hands on approach.

Key Responsibilities

– Using computerised bookkeeping software (including Xero, Sage, FreeAgent and Quickbooks) to update client’s accounting record’s

– Preparing VAT Returns

– Preparing bank reconciliations

– General administrative duties (answering telephone calls, filing etc) and supporting the Office Manager

Requirements

Experience of working in a team

Experience of working with at least two of the following software packages Xero, Quickbooks, Sage 50, Sage Cloud, FreeAgent

Knowledge of Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office Applications

Good communication skills, both verbal and written, professional phone manner

High level of attention to detail

Confident, organised and keen to learn

Salary and Benefits

Salary is dependent on experience and negotiable, the firm also operates a company pension scheme and free staff parking (subject to availability).

The working hours are 9am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday.
